Sport Fishing Charters

Pete, his son Peter and friend Bobby, me (Doug) and my son Bill chartered an all day fishing trip on the boat "Played For It". Appropriately named by her captain, Neal Vitullo of Young Neal & the Vipers. Rising early sunday morning (after a late saturday night gig of course, with eyes wide shut) we set course to points unknown (at least to us it was unknown). Neal, of course knew exactly where he was going... where the fish were! Cruising out in his 26 foot Glacier Bay Catamaran, with twin 150 horse, 4 stroke Yamahas, was a memorable time in itself (right Peter, Bobby). After the boat ride to the fishing spot, and a few instructions on proper boating & fishing etiquette (did you know you shouldn't smoke near the gas tanks?) or that if you hold the spool when you have a fish on, the line will snap! :) we were ready to fish, and fish, and fish

Anyway, 5 of us went on the charter, and 5 of us caught more Striped Bass than we expected we could.
We basically raked them in, one after the other, all good sized fish, every one a keeper. We couldn't keep them all due to rules and regulations, something about keeping a limit of two per person. Well, in the end two per person was all we kept, but of course we caught and released a lot more than that. Not even counting Bobby's killer sharks (ok, the proper species is "Squalus acanthias" alias the Spiny Dogfish Shark)

If you like fishing, and like catching them even more....give Neal a shout,
more info on his website...follow the link below, and tell him the URGE sent you!

and now for a few pictures

yes Pete, Peter, and I caught fish, but I had the camera, and usually, two of us were on simultaneously,
so I could only snap a picture, when I took a break. :)
